This opposition to Our Holy Father did indeed start before AL was published. The internet was buzzing with silly claims that he was the false prophet prophesied. Prophesied where? It says nothing in Scripture or Tradition about a Pope becoming a false prophet. The only ones to proclaim this untruth are the false prophets themselves! Lord have mercy on them.
